STOLLINGS — A clinic especially for females who would like have a hands on experience in the maintenance of her automobile is being offered by a local automotive repair center this week.
EMS Tire and Auto Center will hold a free Women’s Clinic beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday where women will be shown how to check the oil and fluids levels of their automobile, how to change a tire and much more.
“Most women think automotive repair people try to cheat them,” said Aaron Burgess of EMS Tire and Auto Center. “We wanted to build trust in our customers and it doesn’t hurt for a woman to know how to check her oil or change a flat tire.”
Burgess said most women come and let the repair shop tell them what their automotive needs are.
“We basically want to show them how to tell when they need fluids, when to change their oil; how to change a flat and when to tell they need new tires,” Burgess said. “Sixty to sixty five percent of our customers are females so this is just something good for them to know.”
Burgess said the clinic is free to anyone who wants to attend, regardless of their gender.
“If there are guys out there who don’t know, they are welcome also,” Burgess said. “We will educate the public.”
The clinic is being held as part of EMS Tire and Auto Center’s grand opening festivities going on this week. Along with the clinic, customers can register for a list of prizes including new tires, a flat screen TV and more.
“This Saturday we are giving away two sets of tires valued at $400 each, a flat screen TV and a grill shaped like a 350 engine,” Burgess said.
Entries for the grill, valued at $650, will be taken up to 3 p.m. Saturday and a purchase is not required to enter any of the drawings. The center is also having cookout with free refreshments just about every day of the celebration.
