Coal mining

Editor,

I am beyond myself at the tactics of this Administration to stop coal mining. The EPA has issued orders to Georgia based electricity producers to upgrade their plants for coal fired production. The cost, $19,000,000. What does this do? It inspires them to look for alternative energy sources, perhaps like Solyndra which cost taxpayers nearly $500,000,000.

Other green energy grants cost just as much. How can we stand by and watch our employees ruin our economy? We elect these people and the financially rape us. I grew up with coal and it provides many jobs. I liken it my days in combat. For every trooper on the ground busting caps in wars our politicians send us to there are 20 support personnel backing us. Think about the jobs lost that support our miners. Personnel, finance, transport, equipment repair, etc, etc.

It is time for action on anyone relying on coal production to contact their employees and set it straight. This includes all the freeloaders that do not realize when the money runs out, so does the dole.

Loren Tomblin

Loren, this Administration is not trying to stop coal mining. That is what you Republicans are trying to get people to think. This Administration is for clean coal. Got that?

Coal mining is slowly going away on it's own. All of the 26 States in the U.S. that mines coal will show that.

Dollupone is correct in her post.

And, you have the same idiots in the Republican Party who vote for their party candidatesas well!!

Dear Loren Tomblin, Did it ever occur to you that gas became a cheaper fuel than coal? The fracking that is occuring is the reason the demand for coal is down. West Virginia only has enough coal to last 25-30 years. Yes, I am sure you know all this but you find any reason to blame it all on the EPA and Obama. Bye the way, I notice you aren't living in West Virginia where you can smell the delicious air and drink the cool clean water from the pollution of coal in the air and in the water ways are you?.

I spent the first 18 ears of my life in Logan County, joined the military and came back for several years. I grew up at 22 Holden so don't presume I am unaware of the coal industry. I am also aware of fracking and also that there is enough coal for the next 100 plus years. All these special interest groups are oxygen thieves and have a severe case of recto-cranial inversion.

And the sad part is, you have idiots who vote idiots back into the same positions. Evidently they have nothing to lose. YET!
