BOB WHITE, W.Va. — John Cassell “JC” Gilmour, 90, of Bob White, was born August 6, 1921. He passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruby Evelyn Dingess Gilmour; son, William Sherner Gilmour; parents, Alexander Hutton and Pansy Hall Gilmour; brother, Alexander Gilmour Jr., and sister, Harriet Jones.
Mr. Gilmour was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in North Africa and Italy as a member of the 56th Evac Hospital. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
Survivors include his children, Alexander (Vicki) Gilmour III of Gillette Wyo., John (Teresa) Gilmour Jr. of Aiken, S.C., Bruce (Diana) Gilmour of Bob White, Karen Mackey of Castleberry, Fla., and T.J. Gilmour of Daytona, Fla.; brothers, Fred Gilmour of Daytona and Tom Gilmour of Miami, Fla.; sisters, Betty Under and Jenny Porter, both of Logan, and Sally White and Margaret Gibson, both of Daytona; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Handley Funeral Home with Jeff Howerton officiating. A graveside service will be in Florida.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
