LOGAN, W.Va. — Elva “Stubby” Lamb, 59, of Logan, went on to be with our Lord Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division after a long illness.


Born December 16, 1952, in Man, he was a son of Myrtle Lamb of Dorothy and the late Fred Lamb Sr. of Bruno.


Elva was a former police chief of Mitchell Heights and worked for the Logan County Sheriffs office in Logan. Elva was a loving father, grandfather, and husband, who loved life and had a way of always making everyone laugh. His generous and outgoing presence will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.


He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 27 years, Tammy Lamb; daughters, Kim Lamb (fiancé Scott Estrathers), Krissa Lamb (Aaron Estrathers), all of Logan, Ashley (Teddy Ray) Browning of Oceana, and Crystal (Tommy) Stearns of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; grandchildren, Cameron Whisman, Clayden Blake and Nicholas Ryan Toler, and Norah Beth and Ariana Brooke Stearns; brothers, Elza (Mary) Lamb and Fred “Duke” (Patty) Lamb, both of Bruno, and Douglas Ray (Terri) Lamb of Dorothy; one sister, Loretta Gaye (Larry) Board of Dorothy; nieces, Princess Ann (Dennis) Blankenship, Jennifer Lamb (T.J. Mahon), and April (Shawn) Painter; nephews, Fred Lamb III (Nikki Williams), Douglas Ray Jr. (Sherry) Lamb, Sonny Drake Darnell; one special nephew/son, Jimmy Ray (Brandi) Williamson; several great-nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and other family.


Services to celebrate the life of our beloved Elva “Stubby” Lamb will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at the James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Scott Estrathers, Aaron Estrathers, Teddy Browning, Justin Whisman Henry “Spud” Glandon and Jack Starkey.


Special friends and honorary pallbearers are Kirby Rhodes, Joey Robinson, Jim Walker, Tim Hutchins and Mark Hobbs.


James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
