PINEVILLE, W.Va. — Betty Paynter, 76, of Pineville, formerly of Davin, died Thursday, June 28, 2012. Arrangements are incomplete. Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home of Man is in charge of the arrangements.
Betty Jean Kilgore Paynter, 76, of Pineville, formerly of Davin, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Born October 6, 1935, at Man, she was a daughter of the late Kermit and Magdeline Gearhart Kilgore. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Kelly; one daughter, Tammy; two sons, Timmy and Tommy; one brother, Clarence; one grandson, Charles Kelly, and one daughter-in-law, Mitzi Paynter.
A graduate of Man High School, Betty was a homemaker and former Licensed Practical Nurse. During her nursing career, she was employed at several hospitals, including Man Appalachian Regional Hospital at Man. After retirement, she worked at Pizzamingo in Pineville. Betty was a former member of the Mallory Church of God and currently attended the Faith Baptist Church at Matheny.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Teddy (Lisa) Paynter of Inez, Ky., Charles “Chuck” Paynter of Lancaster, Ohio, and Donald “George” (Diana) Paynter of Pineville; two daughters, Debbie (Mark) Robinson of Pineville and Donna Paynter of Kernersville, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Letha Paynter of Oceana; one brother, James (Helen) Kilgore of Davin; one sister, Beulah (Harold) Chapman of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren, James Kelly Paynter, Mark David Robinson, Keri Ann Robinson-Williams, Kelly Dawn Paynter, Jessica Nichole Paynter, Christopher Troy Runyon, Thomas Kelly Paynter and Timothy Aaron Paynter; five great-grandchildren, Madison Kelly Paynter, Rebekah Paynter, Hannah Paynter, Kason Lee Williams and Ethan Paynter; three special friends, Naomi Hunt, JoAnn Lafferty and Jenny O’Neal; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, July 1, at the Paynter Family Cemetery at Campus with Pastor John E. Toler and Rev. Donald Lafferty officiating.
It was her wish that there be no public visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Kelly Paynter, Mark David Robinson, Thomas Kelly Paynter, Timothy Aaron Paynter, Terry Lee Williams and Donald Lafferty.
The family extends a special thanks and gratitude to the nurses and staff at Logan Regional Medical Center for their kindness and care during her final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
