On April 14, 2012, former employees of Man Hospital held their first reunion since the closure of the hospital in June 2000.

Guests were welcomed by Betty Imes, Brenda Hoosier, and Misty Collins and given a special keepsake keychain that was designed Terry Fekete. The speaker, Freda Napier, kept the night in order and everyone informed.

A brief memorial service was held for all of the deceased former employees. A poem was read by Brenda Hoosier, followed by the reading of the names of the 150 deceased employees. A memory table displayed names and photographs of the deceased and a memory book made by Carlene Mounts and Kathy Morrison. A special prayer given by Walter Hawkins closed the memorial ceremony.

Random old photos, projected on a large screen throughout the night, brought much laughter, many questions, and even a few tears. Rhonetta Adams, Carlene Mounts, and Kathy Morrison organized all the photos. Missy McCoy photographed the entire group and took departmental photos as well.

A “Thanksgiving-style” dinner was prepared by Beulah Lusk and a huge assortment of pies, candies, and the traditional Nu Era cake adorned the dessert tables. During dinner, Ralph Hudson, Jenny Frazier, and Janis Murphy told about their experiences while working at the hospital which led up to the special entertainment provided by Dr. Bofill (aka Elvis), and his bodyguards (Dr. Vigo, Terry Sims, John Staten, and Eddie Morgan). Music was provided by Kevin Washington.
