The Town of Man is offering free swimming to the public all this week from noon-6 p.m.
MAN — Man area resident is getting some help in keeping cool this week courtesy of the Town of Man.
The town’s park board has decided to let the public swim for free all this week to help them stay cool in the high temperatures.
“With the power out and the current heat wave, the Town of Man Park Board and the Mayor of Man would like to offer free admission to the Man Community Pool this week,” said John Fekete.
Fekete is a town council member in Man as well as a park board member. He said both organizations decided to let people swim for two good reasons.
One, because it was the right thing to do in a heat wave that has seen many people left without power. The other was a way of saying thanks to the people in the Man area for their support.
“This is one way we can give back to the citizens,” Fekete explained. “Everyone is welcome to join us Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Support from the community has been great this year; this is one way we can give back to the citizens.”
