LAKE, W.Va. — Mr. George “June Bug” Nichols Jr., 77, of Lake, was born August 25, 1934, at Lake, a son of the late George Sr. and Ella Pearl Nichols. He departed this life Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Boone Memorial Hospital at Madison.

Also preceding him in death was an infant son, Rodney Lee Nichols; sisters, Rebele Fields, Maxine White and infant, Freda Nichols, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

June Bug was a Christian, a member of the Meadow Fork Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and Sunday School superintendent, and retired from National Cable Repair in Logan in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Ceceilia Carole Thompson Nichols; children, Quentin Barry Jenkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Connie Lynn Nichols of Barboursville and Diana Carole Dent (Terry Castle) of Julian; grandsons, Cody Nichols Gore and Jordan Tyler Dent; great-grandson, Julian Alexi Gore; brother, Kermit (Opal) Nichols of Star, N.C.; former wife, Barbara (Frank) Cline of Michigan, and several brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Sarge Tomblin and Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Lake.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff at Boone Memorial Hospital; a special thank you to his personal physician, Dr. Howard Lafferty of BMH Medical in Madison and a thank you to everyone at Boone Nursing and Rehabilitation, and all family, friends and neighbors.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
