MADGE PRINCE

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Madge Click Prince, 86, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at her home

Born October 18, 1925 at Whitman, she was a daughter of the late R.E. and Ina Belle Greene Click. Also preceding her in death was her only brother, SSgt George Brascue Click in October 1943.

A graduate of Logan High School, Mrs. Prince attended Beckley College. She was formerly employed by C&P Telephone Co and retired from the West Virginia State Police. She was the owner of Appalachia Antiques. A lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Mrs. Prince belonged to the CWF Breakfast Circle, served for Carpenter’s Corner, was a past Worthy Matron of Bethlehem Chapter No. 71, Order of the Eastern Star, Woman’s Club of Beckley and a charter member of Blue Jay Lake Recreation Association.

Survivors include her husband, T.T. Prince, to whom she was married March 30, 1946 in Logan; five daughters, Jane Lee Prince Watson and husband George M. Watson of Logan, Rosemary Prince Hange of Beckley, Sarah Day Prince Winters and husband James D. Winters of Clarksburg, and Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Prince Smolder and husband Michael A Smolder and Lynn Margaret (Meg) Prince, all of Beckley. Mrs. Prince was the grandmother of George Watson and wife Tracy of Hurricane, Lee Prince Watson Tomblin and husband Ted of Logan, Naomi Prince Hange and Suzanne Edmunds Hange, both of Beckley, Meade G Winters of Morgantown, Elizabeth Paige Winters of Teays Valley, Malati Johnson Reeve and husband Joshua, Jennifer Smolder, Tiffany Smolder Kapp and husband Noah, and Marilyn Pearce, all of Beckley, Sean Smolder and wife Amanda, of Greensboro, N.C.; great-grandchildren include Olivia and T.J. Tomblin, both of Logan, Abigail, Michael and Anna Watson, all of Hurricane, Isaac Reeve and Paydin Lively, both of Beckley, and Jackson Smolder of Greensboro, N.C. Mrs. Prince was blessed throughout her life by a treasure of friends and is survived by her dearest friend Marlene Perdue, of Mason, Ohio, formerly of Beckley.

Services for Mrs. Prince will be conducted by Rev. Don Snyder, Saturday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at the Beckley First Christian Church, Courthouse Square at Beckley. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery at Beckley.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 South Oakwood Avenue, Beckley.

Pallbearers will be members of the West Virginia State Police.
