MARIE CLAY
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Marie Ferguson Clay, 75, of Chapmanville, went to be with our Lord Tuesday July 3, 2012, at her residence.
Born August 29, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Elder James and Emily Ferguson of Dingess. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Elder Elbert H. Clay Jr., and one sister.
Marie was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Old Regular Baptist Church for many years.
She was loving mother to one son and the most wonderful sister anyone could have. She was a homemaker and loved to cook; wildlife was a fascination for her.
She leaves loving memories to be cherished by one son E.J. (Jenine) Clay of Slabtown; one grandson, Isaiah Paul Jorden of Slabtown; one granddaughter, Kory Sanders of Chapmanville; six sisters, Opal (Freelan) Browning of Wilsondale, Belvie (Doc) Coburn of Branchland, Magaline (Sid) Stroud of Dingess, Earsie (Danny) Dalton of Harts, and Connie (William) Stroud and Coba (Hank) Williamson of Wayne; four brothers, Leslie Ferguson, Kenneth (Clara) Ferguson, Benny (Ina) Ferguson and Thomas (Alice) Ferguson, all of Dingess; many nieces and nephews; one very special nephew, Allen (Mary) Ferguson, and a great-nephew, Sawyer Heath Dalton, who was dear to her heart.
Services will be held for our beloved Marie at 11 a..m. Saturday, July 7, at Mt. Zion Church at Canoe Branch in Chapmanville with Elder Kenneth Vance officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Chapmanville.
Pallbearers will be E.J. Clay, Ronnie Williamson, James Williamson, Brian Dalton, Brandon Ferguson, and Austin Ferguson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Dials Sr., Paul David Dials Jr. and Allen Ferguson.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.
