HOLDEN, W.Va. — Robert Lee Browning, 74, of Holden, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 3, 2012, after a long illness at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born January 7 1938, at Whitman, he was a son of the late Scott and Latisha “Teshie” Browning. Also preceding him in death was one infant daughter, Wanda Kay; six brothers, Alonzo, Woodrow, French, Norman, Ralph and Walter, and five sisters, Arbutus Wright, Emily Browning, Norella Kennedy, Linda Elkins and Jen Samson.

Robert was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God at Switzer. He was a retired coal miner of 38 years at Island Creek Coal.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Wanda Jean White Browning; two daughters, Kathie Lynn Dingess and Karen (Glen) Lusk; one son, Justin Robert Browning; two granddaughters, Wendie Michelle Dingess and Krystle Lynn Farris, both of Logan; four great-grandsons; three sisters, Beulah Robbins of Kissimmee, Fla., Betty Roop of Ohio, and Phyllis Ford of Michigan; one special nephew, Charles Robert Crane and many additional nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at James Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Dennison officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pallbearers will be Larry Elmore, Glen Lusk, Justin Browning, John Van Natter Jr., and Charles R. Crane and a special friend, Ira Lusk.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would to thank the staff at Logan Regional Medical Center and Trinity Healthcare for their consideration and services.

James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.
