Biblical wind

Editor,

After the recent damaging winds in our area, I had a desire to see what the Bible says about ‘wind’. (This won’t be of interest to non-believers, I’d guess.)

From what God had written by His servants in various books of the Bible, I’ve discovered that often when God is angry He ‘swoops down on the wings of the wind’. Also, the same writer mentioned ‘out of His mouth came devouring fire’-look at Colorado and other western states. I found too that if a people calls to God in its trouble, He rescues them. I plan to ‘cry’ before, during, and after trouble hits.

In the Psalms it states that God does ‘whatever pleases Him … raises the clouds, makes lightening flash and brings the wind out of His storehouses’. (‘Storehouses’ makes me think that there are more in store.) These storms obey His voice.

Jeremiah prayed for God ‘to pour out your anger on the nations that don’t acknowledge You, also on the families that do not call on Your Name’ How much does America ‘acknowledge’ God today? God spoke to us through His prophets like Jeremiah, but we said, ‘I won’t listen.’ We pay no attention to what He says, but will we be attentive to what He ‘does’. He spoke to us in our prosperity; we ignored Him. Will we listen better when destruction and poverty come?

Being without electricity is such a nuisance. But, we need to be more concerned about being ‘plugged into’ the One who has all power in heaven and earth. If you think being without electricity, gasoline, ice is bad, just stay tuned. We haven’t experienced anything yet.

Once, Jesus’ disciples got into a boat without Him: I started on their journey. A storm arose ‘til He joined them, and the winds ceased. Is He on our ‘Boat’ today? He’s the Master of the sea, wind, rain, cold, heat — everything. Don’t wait ‘til disaster hits to call on Him. God is patient, merciful, and unwilling that any of us should perish. But, there is a time, when He will have had enough of our disobedience/disregard of His advice. Get into The Word, allow it to get inside of your mind/heart. Obey what He reveals to you; He is wisdom. Help others. None of us are perfect; we must follow One who is. I have loved ones who believe that there is no God, and some believe there is no advantage in following Him. I have concern for them. They are described in the Bible many times as ‘fools’. Still, God has a plan for all, if we listen and if we do not. ‘His thoughts are higher than mine and His ways higher than mine.’ I am trying to grasp ‘the mind of Christ’ as I watch prophecy unfold. Pray for me and one another.

Sincerely,

Sharon L. Hill

VA disability status

Editor,

So, here I am awaiting a decision from the VA as to my disability status. They said a marriage certificate was not proof of me being married; a GSW to the larynx was a throat injury; that even though I experienced a GSW to the shoulder and forearm has not gone worse over the last 46 years, I am ok.

They will probably ask for records from 50 plus years ago and while I am doing hoop jumping, hope that I die before they make a decision. My brother died from Agent Orange before they made a decision and his case was filed as “incomplete”.

I know one guy in South Carolina that has had a claim in for 20 years and he is a combat vet with a purple heart.

It is my guesstamation that under Nobamacare that all those VA med facilities will be turned in to public health care facilities and J.S. Ragman will be a low priority.

I believe the world is under condemnation because it has rejected Christ. The devastation we see in nature today is only a precursor of things to come. America used to be mostly good, but I fear that condition has mostly changed now. Many people choose to live out of wedlock, lie, steal, murder and just about anything else a Godless society does. Are we any better than Sodom and Gomorrah?

I found a website that actually looks into the end times and analyzes where Gog will come from. On the World Net Daily, I read a series of speeches given by Imams and Ayatollahs preparing their people for the return of the 12th Imam. What that means to the average lay person living in America is that Iran is hell-bent on the destruction of Israel. They honestly believe they are laying the groundwork for the return of the Messiah. We can see the zeal they use as they try to complete their work on an atomic bomb.

This should cause Christians and non-believers as well to pause and consider what is happening over there. Regardless of one’s belief, I fear a major war is brewing. This war may well happen before the November elections according to the World Net Daily. Israel could take the initial role and attack Iran first. Iran would retaliate by attacking U.S bases overseas and stopping the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. would most likely strike against Iran and there would be a war in the area.

For those who study eschatology, the events that the Iranian leaders are planning against Israel could well mean that the Anti-Christ (Gog) could come from the Middle East. This actually makes more sense than the Anti-Christ coming from a European nation. It is pretty clear from reading the Iranian leadership’s comments they are for the total annihilation of Israel. Most Christians believe this war will happen, but that Christ will appear and destroy Israel’s enemies and Israel will be converted as a nation on that day; they (the Jews) will realize that they overlooked and crucified the true Messiah.
