JOHN BARNETT

BARNABUS, W.Va. — John Barnett, 67, of Barnabus, departed this life Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his residence.

Born November 17, 1944, he was a son of the late Luther and Iva Mae Tackett Barnett. Also preceding him in death were five sisters, Betty Robinette, Peggy Martin, Sonja Damron, Mary Copley and Catherine Sutton Barnett.

Mr. Barnett was retired from the Logan Postal Service. He was a TSGT in the United States Air Force from May 1962 to September 1978. He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Helena Barnett; one daughter, Angie (David) Adkins of Logan; one son, Rod (Stacy) Coffey of Ohio; three special grandchildren, Jarod, Hunter and Connor; five brothers, Joel Kent Barnett, Luther Barnett Jr., Michael Barnett and Theodore Barnett, and two sisters, Beatrice Barnett and Connie Mullins.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Monahill Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. C.D. Wolford officiating. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Pallbearers were Danny Callaway, Jerry Fleming, David Adkins, Rod Coffey and Ronald Fleming. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Jenkins and Kenny Fleming.

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church.
