CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mrs. Ruby Lois Gillenwater Ferrell, 95, of Lake Branch Road of Chapmanville, was born May 12, 1917, at Leet, a daughter of the late Lee and Lottie Duty Gillenwater. She departed this life Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Logan Center surrounded by her family.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Ferrell in 1993; brother, Bethel Gillenwater, and grandson, Todd Ferrell in 1978.
Mrs. Ferrell was one of the first members of the Church of Christ of Chapmanville, a homemaker and loved to quilt, can food, work in the yard and cook for her family. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and church family.
Survivors include her children, Charles (Carol) Ferrell of Catawba, N.C., Helen (Oather) Drake of Monaville, and Bernie (Kathy) Ferrell of Chapmanville; grandchildren, Darlene (Roy) Justice, Eddie (Stephanie) Avis, Sharon (Raymond) White, Becky (Mike) Jude, Kim (Steve) Rector, Jamie Ferrell and Melissa Drake; great-grandchildren, Ashley Justice (Randy Brewer), Holli (Kip) Gillman, Kelli Avis (T.J. Belcher), Dustin (Brittany) White, Curtis (LeAnna) Justice, Michael Jude II, Kayley Jude, Lance Ferrell, Sidney Ferrell and Sophia Ferrell; great-great-grandchildren, Ralea Brewer, Hayden Gillman, Allison Justice and Dillon White; sister, Alma Miller; brother, Odell (Adeline) Gillenwater; sisters-in-law, Halycone Ferrell and Ruth Gillenwater, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Chapmanville Church of Christ with John Steele, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Avis, Roy Justice, Raymond White, Mike Jude, Steve Rector and Jamie Ferrell
Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Justice, Michael Jude II, Dustin White and Lance Ferrell.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
