LAKE PERRY
THONOTOSASSA, Fla. — Lake Perry, 96, of Thonotosassa, Fla., formerly of Cyclone, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Fletcher Nursing Home in Tampa, Fla.
Born November 26, 1915, at Cyclone, she was a daughter of the late Lorenza Dow “Dee” and Addie Bailey Lusk. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Mike Perry; a five-year-old daughter, Evelyn Jean Perry; a 21-year-old son, Raymond Jackson Perry, a M.I.A. Marine of the Korean War; father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Rosie Brown Perry; four brothers, Marvin, Jesse Wayne, Troy and Layne Lusk, and four sisters, Elma Wallace, Gladys Johnson, Oma Brown and Athelene Brown.
Lake enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, walking, visiting family and listening to her religious CDs. She attended Lacoma Baptist Church for many years.
Those left to mourn her passing include three sons, Ronald Lee (Catherine) Perry of Thonotosassa, Harold Michael (Geraldine) Perry of Cyclone and Larry Pierce (Kay) Perry of Lawrenceville, Ga.; six grandchildren, Chandra Perry of Charleston, Roni (Mike) Gavigan of Tampa, Eve Perry of Thonotosassa, Lora (Pete) Davis of Hope Mills, N.C., and Nicole (Pat) Wesig and Mollie Riddell, both of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Posey (Sid) Perry of Davin; three great-grandchildren, Alex and Michael Wesig and Nathan Riddell, all of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Vondie Booth of Cyclone and Margie (Ray) Gisk of Indiana.
A celebration of Lake’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 23, at Evans Memorial Chapel at Oceana with the Rev. Johnny Toler and Glenn Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Claypool Cemetery at Davin.
Pallbearers will be Eric Brown, Ricky Brown, Pete Davis, Fabian Lusk, Gary Booth and Willie Booth.
Honorary pallbearer will be Posey Perry.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
