DANVILLE, W.Va. — Tammy Lynn Frye, 46, of Danville, departed this life Thursday, July 19, 2012, at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston.
Born March 19, 1966, in Logan, she was a daughter of Hessie Jane Elkins Gunnells of Chapmanville and the late Bill Lester Gunnells.
Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, Elvis Shorty Gunnells, and John Allen and Phoebe Mullins Elkins; one sister, Teresa Gunnells, and two brothers, Luther and Paul Gunnells.
Tammy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her husband, children, grandchild, and 15 step-grandchildren. She also loved to cook and talk on the phone.
Additionally, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Frye; her grandmother, Gertrude Walker Gunnells; three daughters, Brenda Lee Gunnells (Ryan Allen Simpkins), Bobbi Jo Gunnells (Matthew Allen) Frye and Latasha Michelle Jane Gunnells (Christopher Shane Bowen), two stepdaughters, Dawn (James) Williams and Anne Blankenship; one stepson, Charles “Chucky” (Wendy) Frye; two brothers, Bill Lester (Malina) Gunnells Jr. and Michael Lee Gunnells; one granddaughter; Izzy Gunnells, and 15 step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Freeman Funeral Home with Mark Meeker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Greg “Papaw”, Bill Gunnells Jr., Bill Gunnells III, Chris Bowen, Ryan Simpkins, Chucky Frye and Michael Gunnells.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
