KEVIN COOK
PINEVILLE, W.Va. — Kevin Mark Cook, 44, of Pineville, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born December 27, 1967, in Celina, Ohio, he was a son of George Mayhorn of Mullensville and the late Imogene Lusk Mayhorn.
Kevin spent 25 years in the coal industry and was currently employed by Mountain Laurel Mining. He attended Sweet Divine Baptist Church. He graduated from Pineville High School in 1987 and was a member of the Pineville Masonic Lodge No. 138. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding, spending time with his children and being outdoors. Most of all he enjoyed watching his children play sports.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rhonda Cook; a son, Zachary Cook, of the residence; a daughter, Morgan Cook, of the residence; two sisters, Kim (Keith) Brooks of Pineville and Malinda Mayhorn of Pineville; mother-in-law, Sheila Parks of Pineville; a brother-in-law, Scott (Stacie) Cook of Pineville; three nephews, Cameron and Caden Cook and Cody Brooks, all of Pineville; a niece, Taylor Brooks of Pineville, and special friends, Terry and Lisa Laxton and TJ and Megan Laxton, all of Pineville.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 23, at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Bill Goode officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Matheny.
Pallbearers will be Terry Laxton, Brian Blankenship, Scott Cook, Cody Brooks, Keith Brooks and Shawn Tilley.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
