MADISON, W.Va. — Mark Edward Smith, 35, of Madison, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009.

Soon after graduating from high school, Mark served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp and received an honorable discharge. He was an electrician with Coal River Mining.

Preceding him in death was a brother, James Edward Workman of Danville.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Sandra Jefferson Smith; a daughter, Breanna Marie Smith; a son, Mark Edward Smith II; his mother and step-father, Maggie Ann and Harold Eugene Hill; his father, James Edward Smith; a brother, Paul Dewayne Bailey; a step-sister, Carol Sue Wheatley; eight nieces and 12 nephews. He will be sadly missed and loved by his family and many friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 14, at Handley Funeral Home at Danville with Rev. Chip

Frame and Rev. John Frame officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park at Danville with Military Graveside Rites by VFW Daniel Boone Post 5578 of Madison.
