CLOTHIER — Seven children, ages 1-6, were removed from a home in Clothier on Monday, July 23, by the Logan County Child Protective Services following the arrest of two adults.


Everett Spears, 31, and Kimberly Mounts, 32, were both charged with child neglect creating risk of injury x7, possession of a controlled substance and simple possession of marijuana.


According to the criminal complaint, West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Troopers J.G. Honaker and J.E. Garren were conducting an investigation with the CPS at the home when Honaker “observed several needles and spoons with pill residence on them lying around the residence in reach of the children.” Officers were also advised that there was no running water in the residence and that the children “sleep on the floor in the same room.”


The complaint also states that Honaker observed several different baggies of marijuana seeds and one marijuana pipe within reach of the children.


Spears and Mounts are being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden on a $25,000 bond each.

• Anthony Adkins, 31, of Whitman, was arrested and charged on July 14 by WVSP Troopers R.E. Stowers and T.D. Boggs for driving revoked on DUI 2nd, no seatbelt, possession of marijuana, speeding and no proof of insurance.


• Danny Clinton Castle, 32, of Wilkinson, was arrested and charged on July 14 by Logan Patrolman J.L. Sheppard for assault, trespassing asked to leave and obstructing police officer.


• Ricky Justice, 21, of Logan, was arrested and charged on July 15 by WVSP Trooper J.G. Honaker for cultivation of marijuana x3 and simple possession of marijuana.


• Jarrod Keith Goins, 25, of Whitman, was arrested and charged on July 15 by WVSP Troopers B.A. Lowe and J.E. Garren, for aggravated DUI, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to obey traffic control device.


• James Marcum, 43, address not given, was arrested and charged on July 15 by WVSP Troopers R.E. Stowers and T.D. Boggs for cultivation of marijuana x4. He was released on a $2,500 bond.


• Steve Martin, 44, address not given, was arrested and charged on July 15, for domestic assault x2 and domestic battery. He was released on a $2,500 bond.


• Bobby Newsome, 35, address not given, was arrested and charged on July 14, by WVSP Trooper J.G. Honaker for trespassing, petit larceny, destruction of property, no proof of insurance, registration violation and DUI 3rd. He is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden on a $7,500 bond.


• Dewey Brennan, 54, address not given, was arrested and charged on July 14 by WVSP Troopers B.A. Lowe and J.E. Garren for DUI 3rd, left of center, driving vehicle without interlock equipped, failure to signal turn and failure to obey traffic control. He was released on a $10,000 bond.


• Christopher Doss, 38, address not given, was arrested and charged on July 11 by WVSP Trooper S.A. Belt for obstructing an officer, driving revoked/suspended for DUI 3rd and DUI 3rd. He was released on a $25,000 bond.
