CHARLESTON — Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin praised Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. and organizers of the State Fair of West Virginia for their efforts to help restock the state food banks’ shelves following the recent storms. The “Landau Buy One Get One Free” promotion encourages concert-goers to purchase one concert ticket and receive a second ticket for free by donating five or more non-perishable food items.

“This is a wonderful gesture from Landau and the state fair to the many citizens who were without food because of the recent storms,” Gov. Tomblin said. “Our state food banks continue to restock food pantries across the state, as quickly as possible, but the need for food still remains and this will help meet that demand.”

“I know what it’s like to be hungry and hurting like a lot of my fellow Mountaineers after that storm,” said Landau “My family lost our power too, and everything in our fridge. And we know it was a whole lot worse for other people. Now, here’s a chance for all of us in West Virginia to help one another, and it’s simple to do. Just bring five or more cans of food or other non-perishable food items to the State Fair Box Office, buy one ticket to my concert and you’ll get one free. And I promise my big band and I will give you an incredible show that you’ll never forget!”

Landau will take the stage at 7 p.m., August 12, at the State Fair of West Virginia. Tickets range from $12 to $18 each. The “Landau Buy One Get One Free” promotion continues while supplies last. Concert-goers can bring non-perishable food items to the State Fair box office in Fairlea from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
