ELVA GOODMAN
BIG UGLY, W.Va. — Elva Rose Goodman, 87, of Big Ugly, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 29, 2012, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
Born June 15, 1925, in Richwood, she was a daughter of the late Everett Lockhart and Ada Florence Brewster-Keene. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Rev. Wayne Goodman; one sister, Evelyn Weldon; one brother, Billy Lockhart and her father and mother-in-law, Plez and Shirley Goodman.
Rose was a member of the High Adventure Church at Harts.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Ada (Mark) Cox of Winston Salem, N.C., and Teresa (Eddie) Bell of Harts; two sons, Richard (Juanita) Goodman of
Danville and Charles (Joyce) Goodman of Harts; one sister, Bette Edwards of St. Albans; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 2, at the High Adventure Church at Harts with Rev. Billy Mitchell officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
