The Lady Hawks completely destroyed the Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team with an 82-32 dismantling of the Lady Tigers at the Scott High School gym in Madison.
Scott took a 13-2 lead after the first quarter and led 39-16 at the half. Then in the third quarter the Lady Hawks outpointed Chapmanville 26-5 to up the lead to 65-21.
Makenzie White led the charge for the Lady Hawks (18-2) with 27 points. Ciera Bias notched 22 points, including six 3-pointers. Kate Tadlock tossed in 12 points.
Brittani Lowe led the Lady Tigers (7-12) with nine points. Jenna Vance and Tiffini Hale tallied six points each, while Cortney Willis had five and Kelli Garrett and Lydia Vance contributed three each.
Chapmanville plays at Point Pleasant on Wednesday and at Sherman on Thursday,
The Lady Tigers play their Class AA sectional game next week at Logan.
Wayne 62, Logan 36
The Wayne High School girls’ basketball team dropped Logan to 3-16 on the season with Monday’s 62-36 win over the Lady Cats at Logan’s Willie Akers Arena.
Stacey Hooks scored 19 points and Tasha Adkins had 14 as the Pioneers won easily on the road.
Katie Chryssofos scored 13 and Jessica Bias 11 to lead Logan. Rojet Lowe added five, Leonnah Browning three, Kristian Chryssofos two and Eboni Monroe one.
Wayne led 13-8 after one, 28-14 at the half and 44-28 after three.
The Lady Cats host Williamson on Wednesday and play at Man on Friday at 1 p.m. in the regular season finale.
Logan plays next week in the Class AAA sectional tournament.
