ACIE MULLINS

HENLAWSON, W.Va. — Mr. Acie W. Mullins, 86, of Henlawson, was born August 21, 1925, at Wolf Pit, Ky., a son of the late Christopher Columbus and Susan Hogeston Mullins. He departed this life Saturday, August 4, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Mullins was a retired coal miner last working for Snap Creek Coal Company at Rich Creek. He was a member of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church at Henlawson and the UMWA. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Acie served his country during World War II.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Violet Mullins, on November 7, 2010; five sisters, Eva, Nancy, Stella, Nell and Lilly, and four brothers Otis, John, Clarence and Laburn.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda (James) Arthur of Whitman; one son, Ricky (Shelia) Mullins of Chapmanville; one sister: Opal Phipps of Clintwood, Va.; six grandchildren, Regina (Larry) Daily, Joanna (C.D.) Hall, Bryan (Diann) Arthur, Josh Mullins, Jeremy (Erika) Mullins and Laura Mullins; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Alex, Braydon and Kaylee, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 9, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Danny Lucas and Rev. Orville Syner officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
