GILMAN BOTTOM, W.Va. — Billy Joe Pack, 50, of Gilman Bottom, departed this life Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Ruby Hospital in Morgantown following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 16, 1958, in Man, he was a son of Rachel Day Pack and the late Theodore “Joe” Hairm Pack of Logan County. Also preceding him in death was one sister, Rachel Jane Pack, and two brothers, Bobby Lee Pack and Gary Clyde Pack.

Billy was an avid fisherman, liked to draw pictures, a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and a baseball card collector. He watched wrestling and enjoyed going out into the community and visiting with his neighbors. Truly loved by all, Billy Joe touched everyone’s heart in many ways. Very kind, he always had a smile on his face. Billy Joe will sadly be missed.

Survivors include two brothers, Theodore (Nancy) Pack of Hanover and Harold (Sue) Pack of Gilman Bottom; one sister-in-law, Wanda Gordon, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, at the Everidge Funderal Home in Whitesburg, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Pack, Jesse Pack, Ted Pack, John Duncan, Glen Daniels and Michael Daniels.

Alternate pallbearers will be Roger Gordon, Gary Copley and his family members.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
