TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Franklin M. Hill, 98, of Titusville, passed from this life Sunday, August 5, 2012.
Born May 22, 1914, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Warren and Bertha Hill. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Inez Hill, and his brother, Sidney P. Hill.
Mr. Hill came to Titusville on the early 1950s with partner and friend Mr. Vaughn Blankenship. The two worked together establishing a successful number of businesses in the central Florida area over the next three decades.
Mr. Hill was a superintendent of the Amherst Coal Company in West Virginia before moving to Titusville. His career in Titusville included the founding of the Brevard National Bank where he served as chairman of the board. He also served on the board of the Brevard County Park and Recreation Commission. Over the years, he was a consultant for numerous business owners and was also a trusted property appraiser. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Titusville. An avid fisherman, he was always happiest when he had a fishing pole in his hands.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Sidney “Hoot” Hill and his wife Evelyn of Oak Hill, Fla.; two grandchildren, Tony McGlone of Orlando, Fla., and Lisa Ciaramella and her husband George of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandson, Zachary Ciaramella of Jacksonville; sister, Anna Moore, and brothers, Millard Hill and Joseph Hill, all of Titusville; numerous nieces and nephews, and his wonderful caregiver, Hazel Holland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, at the North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville.
