CYCLONE — Cyclone Missionary Baptist Church held their “Adventures on Promise Island” Vacation Bible School with Bible lessons, games and refreshments.
Uhel Adkins was Bible School Director, a position he has served in for 37 years. Tony Haught served as Assistant Director and coordinator was Matthew Acord. Skit Directors were Lu Boggs and Elizabeth Toler and music was directed by Cindy Staton.
Class Teachers included: Preschool: Bobbie Perry, Andrea Brown and Alissa Browning; Elementary: Joyce Browning, Cathy Dameron and Helen Porter; Pre-Teen: Kati Walls and Ruby Haught; Teen: Shelly Bailey, Mavis Brown and Tony Haught, and Adult: Pastor Stephen Walls and Richard Bailey.
Refreshments were served by Charlene Acord, Virginia Walls, Loraine Justice and Eva Bailey. Game Coordinators were Lu Boggs, Tim Toler, Stephanie Bailey and Tony Haught. Others assisting included Harmon Bailey, Johnny Bailey, and Eric Brown.
Decorators were Shelly and Richard Bailey. The church expresses their appreciation to Bible Baptist Church and Pastor Earl Brewer for sharing their decorations.
A pool party was held at Gilliland Park in Oceana and a baptism service is being planned for 13 VBS participants.
