LARRY MUNCY SR.

LOGAN, W.Va. — Larry Muncy Sr., 66, of Logan, departed this life Friday, August 10, 2012, at his residence.

Born October 18, 1945, at Williamson, he was a son of the late Auxier and Sarah Webb Muncy. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Erma Fitchpatrick and Billie Jo Wiles, and five brothers, Michael, James, Lee, Donald and Auxier Jr. Muncy.

Larry was a retired coal miner, a U.S. Army Veteran (101 First Airbourne) and of the Pentacostal faith. A lover of life, his motto was “Buddy can I make someone’s day better”; also known as Mr. Humble. His joy of life was serving the Lord, and enjoying time with his family. He never knew a stranger and had room in his heart for everyone; to many he was known as Paw-paw and secret Santa. He loved his little companion, Barney.

Survivors include his loving wife, Reva Varney Muncy; two sons, Larry Muncy Jr. of McEwen, Tenn., and Joe Muncy of Williamson; three daughters, Sharon Horn of Beckley, Angela Muncy of Logan, and Charity Pollis of Fort Gay; five grandchildren, Alysia “Lissie” Brewer and Erica “Tad Pole” Muncy, whom he raised as his own, Heather Faith Muncy, Dorothy Amanda Muncy and Jessica Muncey.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Allen Williams and Brother Bud Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Pallbearers will be Randy Blackburn, Gabriel Vinson, Zack Blackburn, Joe Muncy, Roy Lamb, Claude Adams and Lee Chambers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Hensley, Joe Hensley, Mark Pollis, Doug Richards, and Danny Hylton.

Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

“I fought a good fight and keep the faith.”
