DARLENIA COLLINS
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Darlenia Gay Collins, 55, of Chapmanville, departed this life Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington after a long battle with cancer.
Born June 18, 1957, in Huntington, she was a daughter of Freeman and Ulla Smith of Chapmanville.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Gordie and Annie Smith and Wattie and Olvie Vannatter.
Darlenia enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, fishing and spending time with her mother and family.
Additionally, those left to cherish her memory include one son, Leslie (Tonya) Smith of Chapmanville, and three grandchildren, Breona, Leslee and Aaron Smith.
The family would like to thank Aunt Violet Vannatter and Leroy Murphy, the Oncology Department at St. Mary’s and staff and all of her other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 17, at Freeman Funeral Home with Harry Joe Dingess and Ladonna Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
