JERRY VANCE
CHAUNCEY, W.Va. — Jerry Uewl Vance, 73, of Chauncey, departed this life Saturday, August 18, 2012, at CAMC Hospital General Division in Charleston after a brief illness.
Born May 14, 1939, at Justice Addition, he was a son of the late Joe and Vera Stone Vance. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Benny Vance, and one sister, Launa Maynard.
Mr. Vance was a former employee of Mining Hydraulics and retired from the State of West Virginia Legislative Auditors Office as a budget analyst. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served in the Netherlands and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dreama Jenkins Vance; one son, Mark (Connie) Vance of Chauncey; one daughter, Amy Lawrence of Chauncey; grandchildren, Kalee (Jonathan) Jeffrey of Columbus, Ohio, and Katelyn and Jacob Vance, and Mollee and Emalee Lawrence, all of Chauncey; great-grandson, Nathan Jeffrey of Columbus; brother-in-law, Frank Wiley; nephews, Steve Wiley, Seth and Sydney Wiley, and Chadd (Shelly), and Josh and Dana Martin; nieces, Dena (Tim), Caleb and Carlee Miller, and Alisha Martin; sister-in-law, Juanita Martin; aunt, Irene Talbert, and cousins, Joan and Ronnie Gill, Mike and Betty Talbert, and Missy Steffey, all of Abingdon, Va.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Vance and Rev. Danny Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. to day, at the funeral home.
