CLARA McCANN

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Clara Mae McCann, 72, of Garrett Fork of Chapmanville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Trinity Healthcare Services.

Born May 17, 1940, in Chapmanville, she was a daughter of the late Walter Earl and Beatrice Ball Pridemore. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, John and Leota Pridemore and J.D. and Sally Ball; two brothers, Joe Lewis and Howard D. Pridemore; father and mother-in-law, Mason and Essie McCann; two nieces, Linda K. Pridemore Dingess and Jeanetta Ann Pridemore Evans and one nephew, Howard D. Pridemore Jr.

Clara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, going to church and listening to gospel music. She was a school teacher at the old Barker School at Garrett Fork, attended Berea College and a member of of Shining Light United Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Carl McCann; one son, Dr. Kevin Scott (Janet) McCann of Lavalette; two grandchildren, Natalie Marie and Connor Scott McCann; one special niece, Jennifer Beth Pridemore; two sisters-in-law, Betty Pridemore and Carol (Lonnie) Lucas; three brothers-in-law, Don (Judy) McCann, Charles (Carolyn) McCann, and Ronnie McCann; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Woodrow Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery on East Fork of Harts.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
