BARBARA RICHARDSON
WEST HAMLIN, W.Va. — Barbara Ellen Ferguson Richardson, 75, of West Hamlin, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012.
Born March 2, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Viola Blevins Ferguson. Also preceding her in death was a son, James E. Richardson Jr. of Sissonville; former husband, James E. Richardson Sr. of Cross Lanes; son-in-law, Glen “Jody” Pritchard of West Hamlin; sister, Mabel (Rex) Vickers, and brothers, Cecil (Rube), Elmo (Patsy) and Gene (Minnie) Ferguson.
Survivors include her daughter, Ellen Richardson Pritchard of West Hamlin; son, Joseph E. (Beth Brecker) Richardson of Winfield; daughter-in-law, Donna Richardson of Sissonville; eight grandchildren, J.C. Richardson of Charleston, Cas Richardson and Joshua Chapman of Sissonville, Barbara Richardson of Winfield, Joey Richardson of Virginia, Jasmine Richardson of California, Valerie Pritchard Sellards of Huntington, and Michele Pritchard of Pennsylvania; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and best friend, Connie Davidson Maynard.
Barbara “Bobbie” was born in Peach Creek, Logan County, attended schools in Logan County until relocating to Kanawha County, where she graduated from Dunbar High School in 1955. She lived and worked in Kanawha County until moving to Lincoln County, where she remained.
The family thanks Lincoln Nursing and Rehabilitation of Hamlin for the Loving Care and support they gave Bobbie for two years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery at Branchland.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
McGhee-Handley Funeral Home of West Hamlin is in charge of the arrangements.
