MADISON — The Friends and Families For Coal will host an informational pro-coal forum at the Madison Civic Center Thursday, August 30, from 7-9 p.m.

“This is not a political event but an educational forum to discuss the War on Coal,” said Billie Epperheart. “We will have speakers from various aspects of the industry and community to discuss exactly how this war on coal is being waged and the effect it is having on our communities.”

Epperheart said there will also be a question/answer/comment session.

Organizations attending will be: Friends & Families For Coal; Citizens For Coal; Logan Coal Vendors and Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary-Boone/Logan Chapter.

Among the speakers scheduled are W.Va. Senator Art Kirkendoll; Danny Godby, Logan County Commission President; Kem Abraham, Engineer/Owner Empire Consulting Services; Kristi Jeffrey, Environmental Engineer at Alpha Natural Resources; Chris Hamilton, West Virginia Coal Association’s SVP and Jason Bostic, vice president at West Virginia Coal Association.

The event is free to attend and the public is encouraged to attend.
