The Central Baptist Ladies Auxiliary met Aug. 13

The ladies of the Central Baptist Church Auxiliary met on Aug. 13 at the Central Christian Center.

The welcome was given by the president, Janet Doss. Prayer requests were taken and prayer was led by Geraldine Butler. Fellowship and the theme song, “Love Lifted Me,” was led by Margaret Small. Kay Browning, chairman of circle 4 and her circle were recognized as the host circle for August.

Linda Markham gave a devotion on how sisters/friends are like the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. Markham made chocolate chip cookies to give to each one at the meeting. Margaret Small’s special singing of “Above and Beyond” was a blessing to everyone.

The ladies sang “Happy Birthday” to Lana Brammer whose birthday was the

same day as the meeting.

Reading of the minutes was postponed until the September meeting and Carol Moore filled in as secretary pro tem. Sue Farmer gave the treasury report.

The ladies auxiliary voted to send $200 to the veterans in Huntington to help them go to Bristol, Tenn., and the NASCAR race on the last Satuday in August.

The auxiliary also voted to purchase four coffee carafes for the church camp at Salt Rock and donate night lights for the dorms at church camp. Upcoming events include: baby shower (Shawn Mullins Propst) on Sept 8 from 1-3 p.m. at the CCC; Sunday School picnic in the park, shelter 5, on Sept. 9, and Homecoming on Sept. 23

The door prize was won by Sue Farmer.

The closing prayer was offered by Kay Browning. refreshments were served to the ladies of the auxiliary and the men’s fellowship followng the meeting.
