BOYD MARCUM

SHAMROCK, W.Va. — Boyd Jude Marcum, aged 47, of Shamrock, passed away peacefully at his home at Shamrock with his family members at his bedside Sunday, September 9, 2012.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Vinie Adams Marcum, and two sisters, Anna Lou Ball and Debbie Cull.

Boyd was a longtime employee of Valley Market.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving companion of 28 years, Linda Spencer, with whom he shared his home; four children, Johnny Jude (Daniella Sparks) Marcum of Shamrock, and Melinda (Tyrone) Lester, Cecil (Andrea) Vance, and Billy (Kristi) Vance, all of Mud Fork; 12 grandchildren in which he got great enjoyment; four brothers and two sisters, Johnny (Carol) Marcum, Ray (Edna) Marcum, Wade (Deborah) Marcum, Clay (Gwen) Marcum and Sarah (Buddy) Ball, all of Shamrock, and Darlene Woody of Lake; many nieces and nephews who loved him very much, and a host of family and friends.

Boyd always had a gentle smile and a friendly nature that was always there. He was always willing to help anybody he could in any way he could. He was a loving dad, a great and loving brother, and a very special uncle and grandfather. He will be greatly missed and was loved by all.

The body has been cremated, however a celebration of his life will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, September 14, at the Crawley Church of God with Rev. Vivie Marcum officiating.
