LILLYDALE, W.Va. — Dorothy Ward, 78, of Lillydale, departed this life Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Born July 19, 1930, at Stollings, she was a daughter of the late Ward and Roxie Beckett Kinser. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Junior Ward; one son, Virgil Ward; one sister, Ruby Gilman, and four brothers Alfred, Tommy, Naaman and Robert Kinser.

Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie Hopkins, Goldie Evans, Brenda Ward and Betty Fleshman; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Inez Mullins, Louise (Charles) Lakatos, Eunice Caperton and Joann Clark; brother-in-law, Carl Ward, and sister-in-law, Versia Berry.

Services were held Tuesday, March 3, at the Honaker Funeral Home with the Rev Brian Nipps officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Family members and friends served as pallbearers.
