DUNBAR, W.Va. — Frances Marie Lilly, 77, of Dunbar, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston after a long illness.
Born November 18, 1934, at Holden, she was a daughter of the late Bertha Hall Vance. Also preceding her in death were two of her children, Charles Franklin and Susan Elaine; her husband, Charles Lilly; son-in-law, Tom Ooten, and her brothers, Freddie, Jimmy, Billy, Wesley and Eddy Vance.
Frances was a homemaker and a faithful member of the West Logan Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She professed her love for Jesus and wanted to go home, where she recently said “I would be so happy”.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ooten of Dunbar, who Frances has lived with for the past year; two very close sisters, Dorma Lauriel and Freda Baetzold, both of Ohio; brother, Larry Vance, also of Ohio; three step-sisters, Patricia Jarrell, Phyllis Curry and Rose Collins, and three step-brothers, Larry Keithley, Robert Keithley and Roger Keithley. She was very blessed to have special friends, Imogene Garreton who was her best friend who she loved to talk with every day, Kathy Keyser and caregiver Ann Morton. She loved her nieces, nephews, and step-granddaughters and enjoyed looking at photos on Facebook to keep in touch. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, family, and many friends.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at West Logan Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to the West Logan Missionary Baptist Church.
