The Logan High School volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Tuesday at Mingo Central and fell to 6-10 on the season.

Logan lost 25-20, 25-14 to Tolsia in the first match, then were defeated 25-19, 25-10 to the host Mingo Central Miners.

“We played well the first game, but one of our main players Aarron Ward had an off night in serving — which usually never happens,” Lady Cats’ first-year coach Chelsey Stockdale said. “The girls just weren’t playing their A-game like they did all last week. In the second game I had to pull Herrera because her arms went numb and she started feeling weird, so she had to come out and that hurt us. Against Mingo Central, once again, we played well the first game and we were playing as a team and the second game. They got sluggish and were just making silly mistakes and weren’t working together.”

Logan is scheduled to return to action Thursday at Huntington. The Lady Cats are set to face the host Highlanders and St. Albans in a 6 p.m. tri-match.

The Lady Cats then return home to play Mingo Central again on Oct. 2. It’s the first home match for Logan since the season opener on Aug. 30.

Logan plays seven out of its last 11 matches at home.

The Lady Cats to go Wyoming East on Oct. 4, host East on Oct. 9 and go to Chapmanville on Oct. 11.
