HARTS — A man accused of robbing Harts Pharmacy last week turned himself in yesterday, reportedly at the request of his family.

Thomas Church, 27, reportedly turned himself in to the West Virginia State Police on Sunday, just three days after he allegedly walked into Harts Pharmacy with a shotgun and demanded drugs. He allegedly escaped on an ATV with 100 20mg Oxycontin pills.

A West Virginia State Police spokesperson said an extensive manhunt was launched in an effort to find the robbery suspect.

A televised news report on WSAZ Sunday night said Church’s family urged him to turn himself in to police for the robbery.

The West Virginia State Police detachment in Logan and the Logan County Sheriff’s Department assisted the WVSP in Hamlin with the investigation.
