LAKE, W.Va. — Mr. Kermit James Meadows, 84, of Lake, was born February 20, 1928, at Abraham, a son of the late Claude James and Mossie Eunice Payne Meadows. He departed this life Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Boone Memorial Hospital at Madison.

Mr. Meadows was a retired coal miner, of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

Also preceding him in death was a sister Eunice Ferrell; brothers, Travis Meadows and Clyde Meadows, and daughter, Lisa Meadows.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Meadows; daughter, Jamie V. Meadows of Lake; son, Joe Meadows of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren: Jerzee Meadows, Camille Meadows, Joe Meadows Jr. and Melissa Wilkinson; great-grandson, Landon Meadows, and two half-sisters: Mavis Bragg of Akron, Ohio, and Ruth Watson of Portage, Ind.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Roger McCauley and Mr. Earl Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Family Memorial Gardens at Low Gap Road at Madison.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
