The Man High School girls’ volleyball team now stands at 14-5 on the season after last week’s split with River View and Westside at River View High School in Bradshaw and a victory at Tolsia.

The Lady Billies beat host River View 2-1 by the scores of 25-11, 19-25, 25-15. Man then lost in straight sets to Westside, 25-10, 25-18.

Then on Thursday, Man beat Tolsia 3-1 at Glenhayes, 25-15, 25-13,17-25, 25-20.

Man was scheduled to play at the Charleston Catholic tourney on Saturday.

The Lady Billies have lost to Westside three times this season.

“Out of our five loses this year Westside has beat us three of those times and we have yet to win a game against them this year,” Man coach Orlando Washington said. “So that has been our toughest competition this year and I think if we continue to improve we can play with them we have one more crack at them at the end of the season. Hopefully by then we will have improved. Summer Sword and Mika McCoy are two players that have been playing consistent for us lately.”

The Lady Billies are scheduled to see action again on Tuesday night at home against Wyoming East. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.

Man then plays at county rival Chapmanville Regional High School on Thursday in another 6 p.m. match.

The Lady Billies go to Buffalo on Oct. 20, host county rival Logan on Oct. 22 and end the regular season on Oct. 23 at Westside in the fourth meeting between the two schools this fall in volleyball.
