Logan, Chapmanville and Man are all on the outside looking in.


All three Logan County high school football teams are ranked outside of the top 16 in their respective classes in this week’s WVSSAC Computer Ratings, which were released on Tuesday.


The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the state playoffs which are scheduled to begin Nov. 9.


The Logan Wildcats are 18th in this week’s Class AAA ratings. Logan (5-2) is scheduled to host Class AA No. 13 Mingo Central (4-3) on Friday night. The Wildcats dropped eight spots from last week’s No. 10 perch.


The Chapmanville Regional High School Tigers are 18th in Class AA. Chapmanville (4-3) is slated to host Tolsia on Friday night.


The Man Hillbillies are 29th in Class A and have been eliminated from playoff contention. Man (2-6) plays at No. 26 Pocahontas County (3-5) on Friday night.


Cabell Midland remains on top of this week’s Class AAA ratings. The Knights are 8-0 and have 15.88 points. Second is Martinsburg (7-1) which has 13.13 points.


Third is Huntington (6-1), which knocked off Logan 37-18 last week on the road. George Washington (6-1) is fourth, University (7-1) is fifth, Musselman (6-2) is sixth, Hurricane (5-2) is seventh, Morgantown (5-2) is eighth, Elkins (6-2) is ninth and Oak Hill (5-2) 10th. Beckley (5-3) is 11th, Point Pleasant (5-2) and Spring Valley (4-3) are tied for 12th, Lewis County (6-2) and Parkersburg South (5-3) are tied for 14th and South Charleston (5-3) and Wheeling Park (5-3) are knotted at 16th.


In the Class AA ratings, defending state champion Wayne (7-0) stays in first place with a 11.86 rating. The Pioneers lead former 3A school Bridgeport (6-1), which has 11.71 points.


Frankfort (7-0) is third, Keyser (6-1) fourth, Bluefield (6-1) fifth, Scott (7-1) sixth, Robert C. Byrd (7-1) seventh, Ritchie County (5-2) eighth, Wyoming East (5-3) ninth and Summers County (5-3) 10th. Roane County (4-3) is 11th, Nicholas County (4-3) 12th, Braxton County (4-3) and Mingo Central are tied for 13th, Petersburg (4-3) is 15th and Philip Barbour (4-4) 16th. Webster County (4-4) at 17th, is one spot ahead of Chapmanville.


Tucker County (7-0) is No. 1 in the Class A ratings with 10.14 points. Greenbrier West (7-1) is second with 9.50 points. In the third spot is Wahama (8-0), while Buffalo (6-1) and Magnolia (6-1) are tied for fourth.


Clay-Battelle (8-0) is sixth, Madonna (6-1) is seventh, St. Marys (6-1) eighth, Valley Fayette (6-1) ninth and Wirt County (5-2) 10th. In 11th is East Hardy (6-1), while Meadow Bridge (6-2) is 12th and Bishop Donahue (6-2), Tug Valley (6-2) and Wheeling Central (5-3) are tied for 13th. Doddridge County (5-3) has the 16th spot.
