Intoxicated mom arrested at DHHR
An intoxicated mother brought her two juvenile children to the Department of Health and Human Resource offices in Logan on October 24.
According to the criminal complaint, West Virginia State Police Trooper L.D. Hensley responded to call from the Logan DHHR office where he found Crystal G. Grimmette, 27, of Sumerco, formerly of Lyburn, in a “highly intoxicated” state with slurred speech and staggering while walking.
Grimmette also “fell asleep” several times while being processed at the Logan State Police Detachment. The officer reported that “the accused advised that she had taken a Xanax and drank liquor.”
Grimmette was charged with Child Neglect Creating Risk of Injury. She is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $3,500 cash only bail.
There was no mention of who took custody of the two juvenile children.
In other court news:
1. Amy Shannon Brown, 31, was arrested and charged on October 21 with Public Intoxication, three counts of Obstructing an Officer, three counts of Battery on an Officer and driving while suspended/revoked for DUI by Logan County Sheriff Deputies Brown, Brumfield and Booth. She was released on a $3,500 bond.
2. Sherri Lee Clay, 47, was arrested and charged on October 24 with Petit Larceny and Battery by Man Police Department Patrolmen D. Walls and J. Thomas. She was released on a $4,000 bond.
3. Victor Steven Johnson II, 23, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance on October 24 by WVSP Tprs. P.A. Jones and J.K. Harris. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
4. Rebecca Lynn Jude, 35, was arrested and charged on October 25 for Driving Suspended/Revoked for DUI by WVSP Tpr. M.A. Broadwater. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
