PEACH CREEK, W.Va. — Dora Edwards Elkins, 85, of Peach Creek, departed this life Monday, November 5, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.
Born June 29, 1927, in Clinchco, Va., she was a daughter of the late Wiley and Adeline Roark. Also preceding her in death was her husband and father of her children, Aaron Edwards; three sisters, Doris Blankenship, Mary Blankenship and Edna Burke, and three brothers, Edward Roark, Aster Owens and Howard Owens.
Dora enjoyed church and traveling.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters: Carole (Paul) Kutyana of Ruskin, Fla., and Linda (Bill) Mauk of Crooked Creek; four sons; Darrell (Mary) Edwards of Waynesboro, Pa., Herbert (Patty) Edwards of Vermillion, Ohio, John (Wendy) Edwards of Scipio, Utah, and Aaron Doug (Becky) Edwards of Monaville; 13 grandchildren, Roy Blankenship, Paula Alley, Wesley Edwards, Matthew Edwards, Stephen Mauk, Keith Mauk, Aaron Edwards, Casey Clawson, Herbert Edwards Jr., Vicki Mingus, Michael Edwards, Brandon Jones and Whitney Wagemaker, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Ken Connelly officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Keith Mauk, Stephen Mauk, Wesley Edwards, Matthew Edwards, Michael Jeffery and Roy Blankenship.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
