ALKOL, W.Va. — Dennie Karl Carver Sr., 53, of Alkol, departed this life Monday, November 12, 2012, at Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born June 18, 1959, in Logan, he was the son of Cordia McCoy Carver of Rum Creek and the late Dave Carver. Also preceding him in death was his twin brother, James Randall; sister, Pansy Carver; niece, Stella Denise Tooley; brother-in-law, John Tooley, stepfather-in-law, Paul Salmons, and grandparents, Harley and Nancy Carver, and Fred and Stella McCoy.
Dennie was a loving husband and great father to his three children. He was a coal miner employed by Amherst Coal Company and a member of UMWA Local 5958. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed working with his dad in his little lawn mower shop. He loved spending time with his kids, and playing with his little dog, Bella. Dennie was very excited about the arrival of his first grandchild.
Additional survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Jenny Bartram Carver; two sons, Dennie Karl Jr., and Eric Karl; one daughter, Ariel Nicole Carver; three brothers, John D. (Toni) Carver, and twins Dexter (Doris) Carver and Dennis Keith (Jill) Carver; two sisters, Antha Tooley and Barbara (Carl) Gibson; one aunt, Bertha Wallace; 40 nieces and nephews; many cousins; mother-in-law, Wanda Salmons; sisters-in-law. Tammie Neely and Penny Imes (Fred Howard); very special friends, Star Gravely and Russell Nelson; two kids he claimed as his own, Austin Adkins and Katelyn Campbell, and two nephews that he raised like his own kids, Michael Imes and Bill Hall Jr.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Yolyn Community Church with Pastor Shane Browning and Rev. Alfred Setser officiating. Burial will be in Chambers Cemetery at Cham.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
