We congratulate all three of these local teams for a job well done and for having a great season. Now, we wish all three teams the best as they all compete for state championship gold.
Matewan is making its first trip to the state tournament since 1995 and Scott is back in the Big Dance for the first time since the 1940s. Tug Valley, who has been in several state tournaments over the last decade, is on the hunt again for a state title.
We know all three of these teams will represent our area well and we hope we can celebrate Class A and Class AA state champions this week.
We hope everyone will travel to Charleston to support all three of these great teams as they play in the state basketball tournament at the Civic Center Coliseum.
