HARTS, W.Va. — Mr. Nim “Nimrod” Adams, 66, was born June 6, 1946, at Harts, a son of the late Dewey and Letie Farley Adams. He departed his life Wednesday, November 21, 2012, after a sudden illness at the University of Kentucky Health Care Center in Lexington, Ky.
Nim enjoyed gardening (growing pumpkins), his goats, just being outside, fishing, celebrating birthdays and holidays with family, and visiting family and friends. He graduated from Chapmanville High School in 1964. He started work at a young age for Wayne Williams; logging, almost two years in Michigan in the auto industry, served two years in the U.S. Army, worked at the National Cash Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, for a short time, and etired from Logan Concrete after 37 years. He was one of the first members of the Main Harts Creek Volunteer Fire Department and served as Assistant Chief for several years.
He was married to his wife, Lou Ann Dempsey Adams, for 41 years. They had twins, Trista Lynn of Harts and Dewey Kim (Lori) Adams of South Charleston. He had two grandsons, Garrett Adams of South Charleston and the late Kristopher Mullins. Nim had seven siblings, two who survive him, Eveleen Adams and Harley (Bonnie) Adams, both of Harts, and brother-in-law, Ralph Wells. Survivors also include his very special in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends too numerous to name.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Ministers Jimmy Carter, Ronnie Nelson and Shelton Toppings officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Harts.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
