Logan’s Jason Smith will be returning to the ring this weekend.

This time it will be at the King of the Coal Fields event on Saturday night at the Williamson Fieldhouse in Williamson.

Smith (8-1) is scheduled to fight Roy Sanders of Princeton, Va., in a six-round professional bout in the 175-pound weight class.

Smith boxed just a month ago at the Coal Area Toughman Contest in Logan and beat Jonah Cogar in a second-round TKO pro cruiserweight match.

Bell time for Saturday night’s boxing event is 7 p.m.

There will be nine professional boxing matches on the card.

Scheduled to box is Zack Kuhn, a 147-pounder from Madison, who will fight a boxer to be announced later. Kuhn is no stranger to pro boxing and has been on many cards in Logan in the past.

Jonathan Hill of Charleston, who boxed last June at the King of the Coal Fields event at Logan and is a former Logan area Toughman champion, is scheduled to fight Terrance Watson of Charlotte, N.C., in a four-round professional heavyweight bout.

Matthew Deskins of Breeden is also on the card and is slated to fight Justin Hamilton of Pikeville, Ky., in a four-round heavyweight match.

Don Pennington of Huntington has a four-round 165-pound match against Dustin Carroll of Concord.

Ace Waller, a former Toughman boxer in Logan, has a four-round bout in the 175-pound weight class against Josh Stepp of Lovely, Ky. Waller hails from Louisa, Ky.

In a six-round heavyweight bout, Nick Kisner of Baltimore is scheduled to fight Jermaine Walker of Charleston.

Local favorite Austin “Speedy” Marcum of Breeden has a four-round pro bout in the 160-pound weight class against Dennis Dales of Richlands, Va. Marcum also boxed in the King of the Coal Fields event in June at Logan and is also a former Logan area Toughman champion.

In another bout, Warren Browning of Lenore has a four-round professional heavyweight fight against Justin Riegle of Orville, Ohio. Browning has also fought a number of times in Logan.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
