The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team ran its record to 3-0 on the season with Saturday’s 62-34 win at Sherman.

The Lady Tigers were paced by Kristin DesRocher’s game-high 14 points.

Four Chapmanville players reached double digits in scoring as Katelynn Hall, Jessica Rideout and Hailey Price added 10 points apiece. Savannah Wiley, a 6-foot freshman center for the Lady Tigers, had four points in the game. Hillary Hainer also had four points. Katelynn Manns, Kortni Packo, Addy Lucas and Christina Osborne all had two points. Kim Lambert chipped in with one point.

For the Tide (1-1), Jordan Lewis scored 11 and Sarah Massey 10.

The Lady Tigers led 19-6 after one quarter, 35-16 at the half and 47-25 after three. CRHS outscored Sherman 15-9 in the fourth quarter.

Chapmanville has a big week of basketball ahead.

On Tuesday night, the Lady Tigers travel to play at Tolsia, a Class AA sectional and Cardinal Conference rival. On Thursday night, Chapmanville is slated to host league foe Poca. Last year, Poca folded its girls’ basketball program after only a few games but have come back this season. Both games are set for 7:30 p.m.

Then on Saturday, Chapmanville has another big one as the Lady Tigers go to Mingo Central for a 2 p.m. matinee against the 2A sectional and Cardinal Conference rival Lady Miners. Both Chapmanville and Mingo Central are expected to challenge for the section title.
