WHITMAN, W.Va. — George Bernard L. Shaw, 75, of Whitman, crossed over from Victory to Reward Wednesday December 12, 2012, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Born September 12, 1937, in Macbeth, he was a son of the late Ernest Sr. and Mae Nerva Shaw. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Linda Shaw.

George was a loving brother and uncle who never met a stranger and was always willing to do good for anyone. Following graduation from Aracoma High School, he went to Indianapolis, Ind., and worked for many years at the Barbeque Heaven Restaurant. After returning to Logan, he was employed at Logan General Hospital in the Dietary Department and worked faithfully until his retirement.

Survivors include five brothers, Ernest Shaw Jr. of Suitland, Md., Willie Lee Robert (Theresa) Shaw of Arlington, Texas, Elder Marshall (Velma) Shaw and Bishop Charles D. (Sharon) Shaw, both of Huntington, and Pastor Leroy V. (Deborah) Shaw of Whitman; six sisters, Ministers Darlene, Mary and Diane Shaw, all of Whitman, Evangelist Raddar Luvenia Hall of Columbus, Ohio, Evangelist Bernice (Frank) Moore of Delaware, Ohio, and Pastor Evyonne Burress of Princeton; two aunts, Viola Atchley of Philadelphia, Pa., and Robbie Mae Atchley of Huntington; a special son, Harold Moore of Upper Marlboro, Md., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Home going services will be held at noon Tuesday, December 18 at the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ at Whitman with his brother officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers and nieces will be flower bearers.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
