The congregation of the Chapmanville United Baptist Church will be honoring their pastor and his wife, Bobby and Diana Adams, with a day of appreciation Sunday, March 22, at 10;30 a.m.

Adams served as the interim pastor of the church from February 2006 through July 2006, when he was elected as the pastor in July.

Since his call into the ministry in 1990, he has served as the assistant pastor of the Chapmanville United Baptist Church; the pastor of the Hannah United Baptist Church and the evangelist of the Bethlehem Association of the United Baptist Churches. Adams is currently the assistant teacher of the Adult Class of the Sunday School. He has served in many capacities in the church — teacher of the Middlers' Class; serving as a trustee and an usher; secretary of the Men's Fellowship; a member of the Visitation Team and he sings in the choir. He loves the Lord, and loves working in the Lord's vineyard.

Adams will tell you all he wants to be is a soul winner for the Lord. Just recently he and his family were blessed to see his brother and sister-in-law, Oval and Leah Adams saved, and he baptized both of them. They too are serving with him at the church, as well as several other members of his family.

He and his wife reside at Caney Branch in Chapmanville. They are the parents of two children Robbie (Becky) Adams of Chapmanville and Staci (Mickey) Webb of Verdunville. They have two grandchildren, Scout Adams and Halee Webb.

Adams, the son of the late Anthony Sr. and Marie Adams, is a former employee of Hobet Mining.

Guest speaker for the event will be Brother Randy Skeens, pastor the McConnell Tabernacle. Special singing will be by Brother Ricky Proffitt. Dinner will follow the service.
